Hi! all.
I'm just new here! I just want to make a game.
I use Maya to build my model. But I found the tool is not well support Maya for I met a lot of problem. There also so little support in the forum.
But I found 3dmax is well for ogre.

Can you tell me which one is better for ogre? Or is there any help for Maya?

Thanks!

I think you just answered your own questions: yes, there are more max users than maya users.
Also consider using Blender, as it has excellent Ogre support.

Dont give up on maya, i heard that there is a new version coming. :)

You might also try using LFA exporter; http://www.lfagames.com/help.htm

Although oFusion (for max) is looking sweet like a candy!

The "official" 3D editor after all is Softimage XSI (Sinbad is writing the reference exporter for this), which I can recommend very much. It's quite cheap compared to maya and max (450 Euro net.). Take a look at it, there is a free demo, it may be the right choice for you.

I'll be posting a new Maya exporter this evening courtesy of Bisco.

Great work btw, on the exporter. :)

hehe I'm working on it. The fact is the best way to implement blend shapes might be using special hardware shaders (like in n-vdia's demo).

b.t.w.: I just realised there's a bug in the exporter, it doesn't work when you try to export multiple skeleton hierarchies. Already fixed and posted on cvs, I'll make a couple of other fixes and repost the binaries (silly me, should've tested a bit more before releasing :P)
