i wonder if you also can guid to where there is any info to solve this case:
1)i exported my .mesh and .material to ogre
but then when i run it, it did not show any of the texture that i added in 3d max 7 i used ofusion
2)i grouped the objects in 3dmax and i got them in seprate .mesh
is it possible to get one mesh instead

sorry it is my first day in here so i am lost a bit
thanks

1) Make sure Ogre knows where your textures are. Either move the textures into one of Ogre's resources folders, or alter resources.cfg

2) For a single mesh, all your objects must be attached.

exported object does not show texture

Post by m_ali_alex »

hi
this what i did
1) i created the objec in 3dmax"ofusion" and i grouped ever thing using the 3dmax grouping feature
2)i exported the object using ogre
3)i added the .mesh to the models folder in ogre and the .material to the scripts folder in ogre
4) i copied the .jpg that i used in the texture to the texture folder in ogre

and still there was no texture on the object ... i even tried to use the
ent->setMaterialName("Examples/TEXTURE FILE");
i also tried
ent->setMaterialName("hard coded path to the texture file");
and still when i run ogre it shows gray object
and if i omited the //ent->setMaterialName("Examples/Rockwall");
it shows the object in black color

and also even thought i grouped the pices of object in 3dmax using GROUP menu> group "with all the pices selected .. it still give it to me in sepreate .mesh files

thanks

You shouldn't need to do any of the ent-> calls to get your materials showing, at least not if you're using the oFusion loader library. Do the materials show in the ofusion window inside Max? Have you converted the material into an Ogre Material?

Also, I think you should use "attach" instead of group.

in regard to attach i will try this now
but the ent-> material i did it just after i did not found any texture on the object in ogre so i was just trying things out .. and the example that i exported was the first tutorial in ofusion it appeared nicely in 3dmax "ofusion" but when i rendered it with ogre it showed a gray object not texture on it !!1

thanks
