I thought that was actually one of the biggest development areas for this: packing all the textures into one atlas so they could be batched.

It sure makes sense.

Just wanna make sure I was right about it, and did not miss some huge hidden issue :)

Nope, you didn't miss it. I think in some ways that is *THE* issue.

I am currently reading up on billboard clouds, and was wondering whether this technique is in use in any currently released games? Especially the variation able to linearly interpolate between actual mesh and billboard cloud representation.

does anybody still have a copy of that 3d tree found on page 3 that they could upload again?

hello,

after many attempts, i really don't success to compile the billboard cloud project :cry:

can someone upload me a precompiled version ( binaries for windows 32 ) please ?

This project never worked. I don't know how google paid for it...
