Hi people,
I need your help! xD
I want to put 9 screenshots in Featured Projects, but.. I don't have 3d models in high quality for paint in Mr.Planet :P
Anyone have a model to get me, please? Or.. If it is a private mesh, make a screenshot using Mr.Planet in a place that demostrate the augmented reality? :roll:

Thanks,
Raxo

:shock: :shock: This is awesome!! How did you have the idea to do something like this- also this stuff with the Internet Link??? I think the one where you can set the model on top of this sheet of paper could be used if you want to connect a real movie with 3D animations....... very cool!! Just wondering how you got to the idea o do something like that!!

Today I used Mr.Planet as an interactive modelviewer during a presentation of "Rise of Atlantis", an OGRE powered game project I've been involved in during the last months. (see http://www.ogre3d.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=182236 ). Here are some screenshots of the models I presented to the audience.

Everybody got quite excited about Mr.Planet. During the adjoining discussion people started asking questions like
"Can you show this augmented reality thing once again? ... and the slide with the URL?"
I think some people where quite eager to get a grip on your code. So realeasing it under the GPL license would be a nice thing to do.

In the end people started to chat with me about OGRE. Of course, I advised them to buy the new book, which I happened to have with me :) .

If you like the screenshots of our models, I would be happy if you use them as demo material for Mr.Planet.

Hi crispi!

For me is amazing that people use Mr.Planet :P The models are pretty, if you want I send this screenshots with others to put in Featured Projects (Simbad select the best screenshots)

The code GPL appears this month, but I prefer change little questions in the console (written in python) before, make a good model-view-control design, and.. one surprise in this change, In this moment I write a Mr.Planet Wrapper for python ;)

Aps, one idea, for the next presentation, if you want, press 'd' in viewer and the info debug dissapear ;)

It would be great to see some Atlantis-related material in the "Featured Projects" gallery.

Happy new year!

The new console code isn't finished... :roll:
But I upload source code in Sourceforge (go to http://planet.urv.es/planetrv), in this moment the code uploaded is the same code of installer package.
Sorry for fast fast beta console code :? but I upload this because thus you will be able to begin to play with it

Feliz año nuevo!

The development of this software is at 'standby' because the project where it is enclosed at my university is finished. I'm working in Grenoble for about 5 months, so if you want to continue this project I will help you, are you interested? Please contact me! :wink:

This has to be one of the most exciting Ogre projects around. :)

Problem in the use of MrPlanet

Post by dimnp »

Hi all!

I'm trying to work with MrPlanet but I saw that the videostream coming for the webcam is horizontaly inverted (like in a mirror) on the screen. It does not happened while using the webcam with other softwares. Is there a way to solve this problem?

Thanks!

Yes, it's easy.. go to init.py and write project.videocapture.flipX();
It's because some webcams use different scan of frames :roll:

problem

Post by antonell0 »

Hi guys,
got a problem in first running. Wanna try with my Logitech QuickCam Chat (perfectly working, driver tested with amcap.exe) but MrPlanet cannot get the video.
I found in the log:
20:33:52: project.net.init(1200)
20:33:55: MrVideoCapture::initialise: cannot create device

may be this has someting with the default configuration in init.py

#!/usr/bin/env mrplanet
project.net.init(1200);
project.videocapture.init("DirectShow", "<?xml version=\"1.0\" encoding=\"UTF-8\"?><dsvl_input><camera show_format_dialog=\"false\" friendly_name=\"PGR\" frame_width=\"640\" frame_height=\"480\"><pixel_format><RGB32/></pixel_format></camera></dsvl_input>");
project.videocapture.flipY();
project.debug.show();

any help is going to be highly apreciated :)

I think the problem is related to the pixel format.
My crappy (I mean it) logitech webcam has only RGB24, do you have support also for that format?

Thx
