Mr.Planet is augmented reality software with a simple interface for users. The
user is able to link 3D models with his favourite CAD editor (AutoCad, 3D Studio
Max,) with a great variety of Augmented Reality (AR) patterns. This tool allows
to modify the scale, to rotate the model and to translate it in relation to the
pattern with a simple menu of options. In addition, these models also can
contain animations that will be able to reproduce from the application.

You can download Mr.Planet v2 here! http://planet.urv.es/planetrv/

And I make this video today http://planet.urv.es/planetrv/media/mrplanet.wmv

Screenshots I a few days ;)
Good!

I was very impressived by the power of Planet Me

Now I'm beginning to create my own AR using Planet Me

Just one silly question, is planet me 2.0 compatible with Vista?

Shadows?

Post by CoreDumped »

looks amazing. great work!

A suggestion. I think it would be great if you can add shadows (since you know the orientation of the plane its placed on)

Hi,

I'm a student productdevelopment and working on a new kind of boardgame.

Recently I was testing Mr. Planet 2.01 on a Dualcore XP Professional desktop with a Nvidia Quadro videocard.

It works perfect when I import just one Zip-file. When I import it a second Zip-file into the properties it gives a "C++ Runtime error".

Is it a library problem?

Any idea?

Greetings

For me the MrPlanet app doesn't do anything. If I open it, I can use the console, add mesh and do anything I want, but the presenter (MrPlanet app) doesn't do anything, I haven't got even an error message.
I tried both DX and OGL subsystem, and that's the same: I can see the splash-screen/ open-screen, but it doesn't go next.

:: edit ::
Maybe the video-capture subsystem can't recognise my webcam - are there any plans to make another vid capturer?

-> Timme's WebCamPlugin works for me (however only the DX subsystem can show the image/video, but I think it's not a problem to this app) - it uses OpenCV to capture the video.

Bit of an old topic, but I couldn´t find any other forum where they discuss mr planet...

I'm using mr planet for a school project, my concept is to use augmented reality to see how you could decorate your room before you purchase real furniture. Mr planet is perfect for this, it even has a chair example =]
If anyone has any other models of furniture, I could gladly use some.

So I downloaded the newest client a couple of days ago and got it to work a bit..
The client recognises the pattern and shows the most models. But the models don't have any colour or they don't move in perspective with the camera position.

Here is a screenshot from the chair.zip example, this one does change it's position, but has no colour.
Image

I also notice that I only have 1 option under the "properties" tab in the top, while I see that there are 4 option in the video..
I downloaded the alpha console, but don't know what to do with the files in the zip.

I'm using the hp pavilion dv6000 and the built in laptop, with a geforce go 7400 graphic card.

Been trying to fix it a couple of days, changed all the video settings.. but it doesn't help. Have to get it to work before monday.. I hope someone can help me with the problem, I would really appreaciate it.
.
Thanks in advance

It's because some webcams use different scan of frames :roll:
The project.videocapture.flipX() does not work :-(
I am using Canon mini DV through firewire
I am using a playstation eyetoy. I tried project.videocapture.flipX(), but that didn't work for me either.

Does anyone know how to fix this mirrored image problem?

Contents of init.py:
#!/usr/bin/env mrplanet
project.net.init(1200);
project.videocapture.init("DirectShow", "<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?><dsvl_input><camera show_format_dialog="false" friendly_name="PGR" frame_width="640" frame_height="480"><pixel_format><RGB32/></pixel_format></camera></dsvl_input>");
project.videocapture.flipX();
project.videocapture.flipY();
project.debug.show();

It is:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/mrplanet/ :)
/* Less noise. More signal. */
Ogitor Scenebuilder - powered by Ogre, presented by Qt, fueled by Passion.
OgreAddons - the Ogre code suppository.

I'm trying to get an animated character into Mr. Planet useing Max9, Biped and Ofusion..

I can get the mesh to display in Mr. Planet but I'm stuck on how to get the animation or animations to work like they do for the ninja example and I'm not sure if the issue is with the export from Ofusion or how I'm importing the character in Mr. Planet or both..

Does anyone have tutorials on how to export a character from Ofusion and a tutorial on how to import an animated character into Mr. Planet?

I can get an object like the teapot moving around just not a character with a skeleton..

Thanks!

Its most likely my computer but whenever I try to use Mrplanet nothing happens. I have tried other forums to get an answer and tried them all with no results.
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling several times. I try to add a pattern or open a resource and nothing happens. Btw I am using Vista. Any ideas

If I download mr.planet latest version from:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/mrplanet/
I got "The setup files are corrupted. Please obtain a new copy of the program" error when I lunch the installer.
If I download the old version from:
http://planet.urv.es/planetrv/media/MrP ... taller.exe
the installation is ok, but when I lunch either the console program or they suddently close themselves..
I'm using winXP on a laptop with integrated cam.
Anyone got the same problems? :\

Sourceforge is terrible these days - just get it again, until you get one which works.
Or build it from source.
/* Less noise. More signal. */
Ogitor Scenebuilder - powered by Ogre, presented by Qt, fueled by Passion.
OgreAddons - the Ogre code suppository.
