Thanks for sharing ~
I haven't had time to play around with it yet, but I plan on doing so soon, haha.

No link works except for those in the first, original post. Just for your info.

Also i tried this out and liked it : but, this needs some improvement - maybe some blur between the samples if thats possible (guess not easily) and the bugs you know about anyways.

Also: why is the performance so weak? i get only 60 fps on my laptop :( doesn't seem usable for a game therefore, but looks really awesome, especially if you look towards the light source, with the object inbetween.

sorry, but i can't find source of this sample on my hard drive. Looks like i just deleted some of my old stuff. But i found some parts of this code in my another project. So, if you still need this, i will make new sample tomorrow (it's ~11.00 pm right now in Russia). Or if you need it right here and right now, just port original code http://sebastien.hillaire.free.fr/demos ... godray.htm

My mistake. :)

Can you remember what the archives was called?

I have several lightshaft archives on my disc..
One is from October 2007, and has Artheria in the material names..
Could you maybe give me some hints?

Looks like he created a new project, and used the old code with it.
Framelistener and materials/scripts/programs are from 2008. Project and app code is from today.

Hi, the ogre page is no longer available. All links before are also unavailable now. Will you please upload this demo? Thanks a lot!

Wouldn't hold my breath. Considering that post is nearing on a decade ago.

i've uploaded it...IMHO really belongs in the sampleBrowser...
https://bitbucket.org/frostbyte2/ogreli ... downloads/

edit...i think something is wrong or changed with the [url] tag , or maybe i just don't use it right...
anyway the correct link is:
https://bitbucket.org/frostbyte2/ogreli ... downloads/

edit2...sorry, it seems that bitbucket is defaulting to private repos now, fixed it , repo is now public... :)

while I was at it, I took some inspiration from Crashy: viewtopic.php?t=33445
to make it work with ordinary spotlights, instead of requiring a special camera. Also it now leverages the shadow system for most of the things and integrates with texture shadows:

finally I send the shaders through Cg (I know a GLSL port would be better) so the demo works on both GL and D3D9 RenderSystems.
