One of the modellers in the Critical Supply team, Chain, has made a flash video tutorial to help teach us how to use the 3D Studio Mesh Exporter.
We thought it would be nice to share it with the OGRE community, in the hope of giving any 3D Studio Max beginners some tips on how to use it effectively.
The tutorial shows the following:
- Fixing unit setup
- modeling
- optimizing mesh
- map the object using UVW unwrap
- make material(s)
- add plugin/ogre-buttons to the toolbar
- exporting material and mesh
- converting XML to .mesh
- using the meshviewer and editing the material
The tutorial doesn't include how to make and export animation (yet)...
Not sure how uptodate the tutorial is, but Im sure most of it still applies. We hope others out there will find it helpful
