Or 2 balls and a cat,
A cat is $1195.
So $4185 total.
And Where's Waldo dammit?! How much would he cost? A small freakin' island off the coast of France?
Waldo is in there, but he's hiding inside a $395 Metroid style battle suit thing.

They also sell a mesh of Guadeloupe, the french island group, for $395:

So yes, Waldo does actually cost the same as a small freaking island off the coast of France. :D :D

Will you be releasing the head first textured or a whole ogre?

I'll be making the entire ogre first. Then I'll UVW it, texture it, rig it, animate it. Sorry for the lack of updates, but I'm struggling with muscle tone and stuff. I'm not too experienced. Just fluking as I go, really.

Here's my progress so far on the body...

I'm not terribly happy with it. I'm pretty sure there's something wrong with the proportions. Be patient, fellas.

Hey guys. Sorry about the long wait. Been busy with exams, and had to reformat my computer twice. -_- Now I'm slowly working my way down and roughing out the torso and arms.

EDIT: Yeah, I think he lost some weight. I'll put it back on. :)

great.

I love him already even though he has not a lower body yet.
Yeah, I think he lost some weight. I'll put it back on.
If you ask me he looks about right. Very athletic. I think going with the weight he has right now would be perfect. It's just my opinion though.
And since it is your concept you should just go with whatever you feel is right.

EDIT: Oh one more thing. May I ask what modelling software you are using? Just interested :)

buckED: I'm using Blender. :) I don't mean I'm gonna make him fatter. I just think his arms aren't as developed now, so I'll make more exaggerated biceps and stuff. :)

Agreed!

@omniter: This is looking really good! In my opinion (for what it's worth), I would bulk him up a little, even if it's somewhat exagerated. Not necessarily The Hulk, but since everyone else has made the comparison, and I was thinking it myself, more like a TMNT. :D But even if you leave him exactly the way he is (um...with legs of course), he'd be awesome!

Also, my $0.02 on the swords: The short edge at the tip of a scimitar is usually slightly curved (reference image). In your screen shots earlier they were very straight. You said you made an update, but there was no additional screen shot so I don't know if that's what you fixed. If so, then just ignore me.

Keep it up!

Hi guys. Finally, exams are over! And of course, I couldn't keep you guys waiting forever ;), so here's a little update: I buffed him up a bit from last time, to look more like the original sketch. I started on the lower body and started bringing out the muscles on the back as well. I also made the skull necklace. Looks a lot like the one in the sketch, so I'm quite happy with it. And I decided it was time to show you guys the modified sword. In addition to curving the straight part, I've also made the sword look a bit broader, thinned out the curly hilt, and gave the handle a slight bulge. I don't think anything in this model should have a perfectly straight edge; it just wouldn't fit. Finally, I did some optimization on the arms and knocked off about 40 polies. All in a night's work! Whew! Anyway, hope you guys like it. As always, feel free to comment/critique.

... and here's the sketch for comparison:

Did some more work on it today. I finalised all the muscles in the upper torso (excluding the arms), added slight abs (which will be enhanced through texturing), added the belt with the S-disc, added the sheaths, and further decorated the sword hilts with 3 jewls on each side. I also knocked some more polies off the arms and back. I think it's coming along quite well, even though it's deviating slightly from the sketch now. What do you guys think? Should I make it more exaggerated and cartoonish like the sketch, or do you like the new direction it's currently headed?
