Heya all.
My name's Justin Andrews, having spent a few years developing my own 3D engine for the little games I write in my spare time, I decided that life's too short to program games AND support a rendering engine in my spare time and Ogre looks too good to ignore.
I live in the UK, and I work as a games developer ( http://www.mobygames.com/developer/shee ... rId,86162/ ) specalising in Audio programming. (My wife thinks that I'm nuts that I come home from work and unwind from writing games by writing games)
I hope to have a few shots of my little homebrew Turn based strategy game based on the old classic Battletech boardgame fairly soon.
Other than that I hope I can contribute in some small way to the community here.

Hey Justin,
By any chance, do you know Tom Maund? I used to help him out with his shockwave racing game around 2005, he was the web guy at headfirst.
Sucks that it went under, I remember that.
Anyway, Ogre is great, you won't regret it.

Yep, I was the Group Lead Audio Programmer.Have you really helped developing Operation Flashpoint: Dragons Rising?
If you need to know anything about FMod I can probably help.
Heh, I remember Tom the web guy, I did'nt know about the shockwave game, though it is no surprise, he was pretty good at shockwave. I was less sure about his surname, anyway If I remember rightly, he worked over in the loft at the Barn (aka the "Toblerome") and I was in the porta-cabin and then the "new" building, so I only saw him now and again. How is he?By any chance, do you know Tom Maund?
It did suck that it went under, but its a small industry, I even worked with Chris Gray (Producer on CoC) again recently.

Hey Justin, welcome to Ogre! Actually I am not so far from you - I work at Eurocom in Derby as a graphics programmer. But I went to Uni at Warwick and lived in Leamington Spa for a couple of years so I know that area well.

Hi. Thanks for the welcome.
Does Gareth Clarke still work over at EuroCom? I know a few of the old Headfirst team went there.

Hi
Thank you for helping me under general discussion

Just a suggestion. I have used ogre for sometime and not seen any AI binding yet. It is in the TODO list. If you can spent time for making some AI binding or your own AI wrapper that is a huge contribution. Do not know whether this is possible because of your time or your area of interest(Sound). Just a suggestion.having spent a few years developing my own 3D engine for the little games I write in my spare time, I decided that life's too short to program games AND support a rendering engine in my spare time and Ogre looks too good to ignore.

Re: Heya all.
Its not that likley as I'm not all that up on AI to be honest.
Its also something, that, from my experience, tends to be highly game specific.

He does, though I don''t know him personally. I've only been there a year, and I think head forst went down about three years ago?justinandrews wrote:Hi. Thanks for the welcome.

Heh, small world. I live in Ashbourne, go to Uni at Derby, did a work placement at Blitz Games in Leamington Spa (I'm returning to the company once I finish Uni), and have a friend who did his work placement at Eurocom last year.PolyVox wrote:Hey Justin, welcome to Ogre!
