Flower on the jackets in the UK?

I watch BBC channels and the people (BBC staff) have some red green black flower or something attached onto their jackets / shirts on the chest.
At first I thought maybe it's some political thing but then again I don't think so as the BBC should probably not show allegiance to any one party. In Finland we have some similar things which political parties use to identify themselves especially during elections. But as I said I don't think this can be the same thing.
So please tell me what is it? Why do they wear it?
I'm watching the news right now on BBC 1 and the presenter is wearing it.
