Hey all! My name is Bryan Clarke, and I'm the art team lead for VisionScape Interactive. We are currently working on pre-visualization software for home improvement and design projects, and we need a Cg/HLSL shader programmer in the New York/Tri-State area to help us refine and expand our shader library. I am mainly a traditional 3d modeler by trade and and too swamped with production tasks to learn anything about shader programming, so we need someone in the NY/Tri-State area area who can join our team in the Hudson Valley and help us develop shader and material prototypes for our art pipeline.
Our biggest difficulty is that we have custom self-shadowing HLSL code that interacts with all of the other materials in the scene. This has been complicating development of any other materials we need to make, no matter what the level of complexity. Because our main HLSL/Cg programmer is also our primary 3d programmer, and because I am too swamped with production work to learn Cg/HLSL, we need someone who can specifically focus on designing vertex/fragment programs for materials based around this self shadowing code. We are planning on continual development of our software far past the release date, so this will be a paid and permanent position.
Ideal candidates would meet the following criteria:
- Has a background in Cg/HLSL and general shader development
- Has a strong understanding of the Ogre Engine
- Is able to commute to our office in the Hudson Valley
Additional strengths that would be helpful:
- A background in traditional/3d programming in C/C++/C#
- Some exposure to general 3d art production and related concepts
- Some exposure to CAD Drafting and Architectural Pre-Visualization
- Has a laptop they are able to commute and work on (we are still on a limited budget currently)
If you are insterested, PM me or email me at BClarke@myvisionscape.com with a resume, short description of your background, salary expectations, and ability to commute or relocate. We are not looking for remote applicants at this time, but could potentially do a remote "trial period" if you are not immediately able to commute or relocate.
By the way, we will have some additional positions available in the near future for traditional and 3d programmers, 2d and 3d artists, and testers. Those postings will be going up later once we've sorted out what we need, but if you live in the Hudson Valley area and have any expertise in those areas, feel free to drop me a line and we may be able to get you on the team sooner rather than later!
That's all for now. I'll leave you guys with some screenshots:
