Xavyiy - So, I'm looking at the Paradise Sandbox website....what exactly can I do with the scenes I render with this tool? Can I export them and have them in my own Ogre game? Or do I have to have it run in the Paradise Engine, which I'm not seeing much information on....? I'm just trying to understand what I'm buying a license for. I would think this kind of editor would have at least a library for a custom game to load the scene as it's designed in the sandbox editor.

@Herb

Paradise Sandbox is not a tool oriented to Ogre3D developers. It's not the "Paradise Framework" from the original post (2'5 years ago) - this is why I haven't updated the first post and I'll make a new/proper announce one time all will be ready, in a few days -. It's a visualization tool aimed at architects and indie 3D artists used to work with rapid prototyping 3D software (like Sketchup, etc), which resulting models don't have enough visual quality.

You can think about it like a -less evolved but potentially with a bright future- Lumion3D (http://www.lumion3d.com/)

During the next 9-12 months I'll be improving the general workflow based on users feedback and I'll be adding big features like a time-based event/animation system and support for offline rendering (== create high-quality videos from scenes, based on camera paths). Other planned things are: volume terrain support, river creator tool, real-time virtual paths with Oculus Rift support, etc.

Would you release Hydrax library to anyone who wants to buy it? You have probably modified it far enough from the last time your public release - so I think that would be worthwhile upgrade.
A willow deeply scarred, somebody's broken heart
And a washed-out dream
They follow the pattern of the wind, ya' see
Cause they got no place to be
That's why I'm starting with me

Yes, Hydrax 2.0 will be released during November (commercial license), I just need some time to create a proper Ogre-standalone demo and some basic doc.

Good luck!

It would shine if it had a great collection of high quality assets shipped or purchasable.

@saejox
Thanks!

Yes, when the time comes I'll contract some 3d artists and make a robust built-in asset database (current models are not excelent, not bad but not very good either). Also, there is nothing that prevent users from create a custom asset pack and selling it :), if things goes well I can even think about an online store (60%, 40%) for these assets: objects, materials and post-processing effects.
