I watched your video and wandered around your website. Summary:
- Video everybody here could assemble in 30 minutes
- Project lead calling himself a genius
- In draft-stage project already accepting donations and subscriptions - which you should start thinking of in closed-beta
- No in-depth thread about the platform (language?, scripting?, server-client model?, Server grid with multiple login-proxy-gamenode-dbbackend tier architecture?, Any experience or previous work, maybe some network game?, Procedural generation?, Physics processing client-only or on the server too?)
- Plus your general idea seems like a techdemo with not much gameplay, a slim version of the infinity project
We see this project is in a "very early stage", but if you would present us your great vision we could at least comment on that.

Please don't write that kind of stuff...TWO wrote:I watched your video and wandered around your website. Summary:

Re: Exoterra
Anyone can post about their projects here - not only the elite.TWO wrote:We see this project is in a "very early stage", but if you would present us your great vision we could at least comment on that.
We do not require you to be elite.
If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it.
The only requirement is a video/screenshot.
That's the only barrier to entry we have.

Re: Exoterra
I posed constructive criticism without being personal or ranting, one could think that adults can handle this. I would prefer such comments to no comments at all. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Edit: Through I think that such an ambitious project should have something to show, maybe some Ohloh stats, screenshots of the servers running, debug shots, logs. Something that shows these guys work on this. There are threads on their forum wondering why people leave, guess why

Re: Bad critique
Moved this out from original topic, because we don't want it.
Would have moved it to /dev/null, but I figured it could fit into the Off-topic forum.

Re: Bad critique
I will say that what's in the video is quite impressive considering the fact that ~95% of the people on these forums && irc can barely get ogre in their IDE let alone make ~something~

Re: Bad critique
I agree Bronzebeard.
I liked the physic's on the collisions. It is obvious that the project was in its early stages and guess what, the OP said 'This game is in a very early stage.'
So, no wonder people don't come back with comments like 'Two's'.

Please, don't assume there are only adults on this forum... there are also very talented kids too.one could think that adults can handle this
Also avoid to use 'we' when obviously it's only your point of view, thanks.
