Template what next?

Hello, I'm trying to get a basic hello world type app running using OGRE iphone. I've downloaded and successfully built Ogre for iphone and got the sample browser running in the simulator but am getting stuck with the template(s).

I run the template installer which completes, but nothing seems to of happened. I'm new to mac os development. Do I have to manually add the installed template to the xcode IDE? I've tried two of the template installers. The older one (Ogre_Xcode_Templates_20101211.pkg.zip) asks for an SDK location but the newer one (Ogre_Xcode4_Templates_20110616.pkg.zip) doesn't, both are available on SF, I presume the newer one is the correct one?

A new category named Ogre should appear in the new project dialog.

Just the standard templates are there. The installer completes successfully. Might there be some kind of log file created by it I can look at? Sorry if these are pretty newbie questions, any help's much appreciated.

Hmm, there's a log that you can view from within the installer app. Not sure where it's stored though.

BTW, the Xcode4 templates are for Xcode 4. You will want the older ones.

Hmm, just for fun. Try running these from terminal then reinstalling.

The first one ran fine, the second two didn't ("No receipt for 'org.ogre3d.Xcode4Templates.ProjectTemplates.pkg' found at '/'.") perhaps because I'm in xcode 3 not 4.

I've ran the installer again and still nothing shows in the template dialog after starting up xcode.

Do you have Xcode installed in a non-standard location? Are you and administrator user? Is the file system case sensitive?

- Xcode resides in the Applications folder, I didn't install it, but presume this is the standard place?
- I don't think the file system is case sensitive, from the terminal I can navigate into the same folder with both cd library and cd Library, (I don't know how to tell if file system is case sensitive so thought this would determine)
- I think I'm ad admin. If I look in System preferences > System > acounts I can see 'admin' under my name. I'm one of several users with an account on this computer (it's in a uni lab).

Is there no way I can just copy and paste a template in somewhere no? Or through the xcode interface import a template or something? I'm pretty new to mac development, very much a windows person so I'm afraid a little naive to troubleshooting these problems.

In theory, the templates should just work. Clearly something is strange with your setup(Xcode is in /Developer/Applications by default) The Xcode 3 templates have always been a pain, I'd recommend switching to Xcode 4.
