FACADE [Open-Source]

A place for employers, project leaders etc to post if they are looking for people to assist with an Ogre-based project. Please only post in this area if you have a _serious_ project proposition for which you already have something to show for.

FACADE [Open-Source]

Project Name:

Facade

Some Concept Art:

Brief Description:

Facade is a 3D adventure game with the art style of Mirror's Edge and Portal.
It's designed for total immersion, with very little in-game UI, speculative loading and a compelling storyline. Adventure games aren't mindless violence that merely hone your reflexes. A good adventure game doesn't tell a story. It shows the story. Facade is puzzle-centric, but it's not just about the puzzles. It's about the narrative. The principle of showing the story, not telling it. This would be one of the first pure adventure games since the end of the Myst series, as the 2000's lacked notable 3D adventure games. In a game like this, there are few characters, this would be an added benefit, as voice-acting may be unnecessary. Among other things, the conceptual ideas & schematics of futuristic computers/technology, as well as minimalism, have always fascinated me, and this allure, this mystique, will enable us to create a beautiful and compelling game.

Target:

Free/Open-Source

Technology:

- Ducttape Engine w/Bullet (C++)
- OGRE (obviously)

We've transitioned away from OGRE. I'd appreciate it if a moderator would close this topic.

What did you choose? :)
/* Less noise. More signal. */
Ogitor Scenebuilder - powered by Ogre, presented by Qt, fueled by Passion.
OgreAddons - the Ogre code suppository.

I was curious too - http://facade.so/:
We've begun a swift transition to Unity, following the addition of new team members and the announcement of Linux support in Unity 4. The capabilities of Unity3D far exceed those of Ducttape, our previous engine, or of any other open-source engines.

This will enable us to produce a significantly more polished product for numerous platforms.
Not sure how that goes with open-source and licensing stuff though.
