Hi I am running blender 2.6 on mac os.x 10.7
and am trying (desperately) to install the Ogre exporter in blender.
according to the instructions...
1) Download python and install: http://www.python.org/download/ (Note: Get v2.6.4. Blender is compiled against v2.6. Hence only this version will work.)
OK no probs...
next...
2) Copy the the script and all subdirectories either into ".blender/scripts" or the user defined scripts directory.
mmm. well there is a path inside the blender package called
Contents/MacOS/2.6/scripts
but that does not contain any other scripts directly which is a bit suspicious. It contains instead a list of folders addons, modules, presets, startup, templates
does the script and its subdirectories go in
.blender/Contents/MacOS/2.6/scripts ? or
one of its subdirectories? or
somewhere else?
next...
3) In the "Scripts Window" run "Scripts → Update Menus".
There is no Scripts Window anymore but I am guessing it has been renamed as 'python console'. Is that the case?
If so then there is no menu in it (or anywhere else) called 'Scripts' although it is referenced in blender documentation several times (without mentioning exactly where it is)
There is another version of the OGRE exporter installation instructions which talks about a the scripts menu being a snake like symbol but I can't find that either.
I suppose my question is under blender 2.6 on a mac where exactly does the exporter script go and where exactly is the 'script' menu. I really have put hours into this so any help would be greatly appreciated. I can not be the only person in this predicament.
thanks in a advance

What instructions are you looking at??
Blender 2.6 is compiled against Python 3.2.
Follow the instructions for the Blender 2.5+ exporters.
Also, this information might come in handy:

Re: Installing the blender exporter (mac osx)
Thanks for the reply.
I was following the instructions at http://www.ogre3d.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=45922 ...which is the link for the blender exporter from the tools page which is in turn a link from the front page of the site.
Your link was helpful plus there was another post almost at the same time as mine on this subject at http://www.ogre3d.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=67644 which helped a lot.
Now I have just got to work out how to convert the xml to ogre format. I am sure that will go smoothly
