Virtual Reality Zombie Game - Looking for programmer [FREE]

A place for employers, project leaders etc to post if they are looking for people to assist with an Ogre-based project. Please only post in this area if you have a _serious_ project proposition for which you already have something to show for.

Virtual Reality Zombie Game - Looking for programmer [FREE]

Post by tsaif09 »

So here's my idea. It's not for profit, but rather just to see it come into existence. The concept is to have a person play INSIDE of a zombie world.

Head motions would be tracked using IR LEDs and a wiimote mounted to a helmet.
The weapon would be a wiimote using the Nyko Perfect shot
The player would be surrounded by speakers for more realistic 3D sound.
The glasses are the Vuzix Wrap 920

I am entirely serious about this project, and I've bought most of the resources already.
The video glasses can take a 640x480 image, and split it into 2 320x480 images. Using that we can create a truly 3D stereoscopic game.

I could do the programming, but I don't have too much time to dedicate to learning Ogre3d as I'm working 2 jobs. This project has been on the backburner for about a year now, and I want to bring it to the forefront.

If there is a programmer here that could develop the software, we could create something truly magical.
If this project takes off and booms, you could get some serious creds by taking part in this project.

.*sigh*.
I guess nobody so far is interested. In case you ARE interested in this project, I still aim to have this plan come to fruition. I'm starting to learn Ogre now.
Tutorial 1 down... so far so good
When it takes off, I'll make a website. I occasionally check my messages here even though there's never anything here in case you're curious.
===
I made several heads at various distances. 2 Different views being rendered side by side, and so I've been able to achieve depth perception =D! I guess the hardest part of Ogre is setting it up >_<;

Sounds pretty interesting, however my guess is that you'll have to do everything yourself (everyone else is working on their own projects that are going to be truly magical as well), still don't give up and post on the showcase forum as soon as you have something to show :)

good luck!
