Help needed ugrently --> best way to export a Lightwave Anim

Post by wtd »

Hello All;
I am having difficulty importing a Lightwave Scene into a OGRE application.

I downloaded the Lightwave to OGRE converter from this site and have installed it and it seems to function OK. However, there are some things that aren't happening that I need to ask about.

I have created a simple 2-second test animation in Lightwave and then I exported the mesh and the scene. However, when our software developer tried to import my files, only one layer came in whereas there are two other layers which we did not see and were apparently not exported.

How do you get the lightwave to OGRE converter to export all layers of a scene (In my case 3) to get all of the animations?

Is there a better option than using the Lightwave converter ? How about if I export my scene to Blender and then export to OGRE from there ? Does the Blender plug-in work better ?

Thanks for any help and advice you can give me. I'm desperate.

It seems a lot more people use Blender here than LW. If you have problems exporting from Blender, you will probably get a flood of help compared to with LW. Just my take, I don't use either myself.
