Android Minimum Hardware Requirements

So, I was thinking of expanding my 3D experimentation on to the mobile platform, but I don't have a smartphone yet, and I'm thinking of buying a cheap one, for now my best choice is Sony Ericsson Live with Walkman, and comparing it to the XPERIA Play they seem to have exactly the same hardware specifications, so I'm guessing this would be good enough for OGRE?

If you could point out some phones that OGRE has been tested on that would be great.

Also, is Android support production-ready, or not ?

I was able to build and run a simple (test) app with Ogre 1.7.3 for my first generation Moto Droid, so ... I think you'll be okay.

Hi. I have tested a simple demo ogre app on HTC Wildfire S, HTC Nexus ONE, SE Xperia Neo, LG GT540 and HTC ChaCha, but by simple i mean one mesh(ogre head) and one skybox. I'm thinking of doing a demo that has something more.

P.S. It would be nice if other users share what difficulties they had with doing something with ogre on android ?

I would think the requirements for 1.8 will be higher unless there has been more talk of supporting OpenGL ES 1.0 in 1.8.

I imagine you're spot-on with that.

My plan is to focus on the iOS side until an official release with Android support

... (which will hopefully be soon as I'm nearing completion of the iOS app) ...
