FERAL KINGDOM ((Language C/C++))

A place for employers, project leaders etc to post if they are looking for people to assist with an Ogre-based project. Please only post in this area if you have a _serious_ project proposition for which you already have something to show for.

FERAL KINGDOM ((Language C/C++))

Previously known as Impressive Kingdom...

Feral Kingdom is just the start of a beautiful online fantasy predator and prey RPG! In this game the player can experience the thrill of hunts and battle, the adventure of exploring a broad spectrum of maps, with the addition of tapping into the elements and magic of their world. There will be Feline, Canine, and Raptor models, fully customizable to fit most any species or character that the player has in mind. This means the player can create anything between Wolf to Fox, Lion to House Cat, and Eagle to a little Burrowing Owl. Even the markings and color scheme will be editable with a hopefully user-friendly character creator system.

The battle system is currently a 3rd person, real-time mouse clicker, but hopefully can be upgraded to a more original and easier interface. Player vs. Player might not be supported until the creation of the "Fighting Dojo", where friends can fight each other in an arena. Every Player can use skills obtained from defeating various animals. A few basic examples are:

Cure - Heals 30% HP. Can be casted on the user, a pet, or another player.
Healing - Heals the user 100%
Tame - Like a Ball thrown in Pokemon, this spell has a chance to tame an enemy and turn it into a loyal pet. It's progressively harder to tame Rivals
and Predators than it is to tame a Prey animal.

Fire Bolt - Launches a homing fireball at the foe that deals Blaze elemented damage.
Flare Storm - Rains powerful meteors down on a single target.

There are 5 categories of enemies the player faces. All enemies have the chance of dropping items.

Prey - Flees on the spot while being attacked, sometimes fights back if HP is low.
Rival - A rival predator. It will retaliate when attacked, but will always flee on low HP.
Predator - An enemy that targets out players and attacks. Most enemies in this category will try to flee when their HP is low.
Scavenger - This enemy stalks at a distance, only assaulting the player when their character is weak or wounded.
Boss - This enemy stands idle, or does its own thing until attacked. Once a blow has been dealt, this foe will fight to the death!

When defeated in battle, a player gains Wounded status. When wounded, they must try to escape to safety and recover their second wind, possibly continuing to be attacked by their enemy. If a player is defeated while wounded, they lose their equipped items and are transported back to Sunbound Hollow.

We currently only have one texture artist, but he creates some very unique and outstanding textures, even though these ones are only temporary.

Feral Kingdom will also feature an original soundtrack.

And this is the old concept design for the animated title screen.

Any knowledge and input will be helpful to the extreme. It is recommended that you either have plenty of experience in Ogre, are rather adept in the C/C++ coding language, know your way around any 3D program that supports modeling, armature, and export ((Blender may be the most reliable since it is free)),

The most important part of the game right now will be the backbone. We need to piece everything together so that it works out and runs smoothly
((It's very unlikely that we'll be using C#, however, the new Neoaxis engine does look rather enticing.))

Unfortunately, I apologize to say that this project is currently in a non-profit stage. I can not guarantee there will be any revenue to pass around, and I'm not even sure donations will be opened up. However, I can promise that this will be a beautiful reference in addition to any portfolio, whether it be college or a future career interview.
