Re: [News] Jan "TheSHEEEP" Drabner joins the team!
Happy to be on board
As I am completely new as a team member, it will take some time to get accustomed to the internal stuff, and I will also not be able to spend vast amounts of time each week (won't be more than 5-10h each week in most cases
), so do not expect awesome results in just one week or so. So, that's the bad news, I guess
The good news!
Here's my plan for the future:
1) Make sure all the Wiki and tutorial stuff on MinGW is up to date. Also add a tutorial for the current "v1-8" branch + MinGW + NetBeans (as it is my IDE of choice
). As it will likely take some time to do 2) I will start with this one to make sure everyone (especially new users) can use MinGW asap.
2) Check the current branches and all configuration possibilities for MinGW compatibility. This will be "default" and "v1-8" first, since I do not think it will make too much sense to add that compatibility in old branches, especially considering my limited time.
2.5) When all problems are figured out, fix them!
3) When everything works, make sure it stays that way as updates come flowing in.
Yup, that would be it. Wish me luck!

Welcome aboard
Just as a quick note: We currently have three development branches: v1-9, v2-0 and default. I suggest that you do any change that cannot go into v1-8 in v1-9. We always merge upwards, so changes in v1-8 and v1-9 are promoted to the rest eventually.

Also, I forgot to add:
If anyone has a problem with MinGW and Ogre, please post in the Help forums and/or drop me a note.
And if someone just needs help with MinGW in general, please post in Back To Basics and/or drop me a note
