Team Foundation Server 2012 Express

Post by Zonder »

Yes they have released an express version free for upto 5 users but it also lets you add cals with out a full upgrade (I am expecting that to disappear tbh)

So good news for the pure windows stack teams :)

MS did it right with the express editions this time imo.

Previous versions even lacked "Open Folder in Explorer" button. that was such a bummer.

Intellisense is much improved, and ide in general is faster than 2010. i have been using for a week now, it didnt crash yet.
things like semantic highlight and custom themes make me like it even more. I didn't notice till now that my code is actually pretty :D

C++ and C# works great, but javascript and html editing is not very impressive. no hinting, undefinded variable check and auto-complete is basic in javascript editor.
Some of these issues are easily fixed by extensions, but express versions does not allow installing third party extensions.
Netbeans is better in web development front.

i dint move my game from vs2008 to vs2012, but made a vs2012 project with cmake to edit in vs2012.

Overall great free product :)
