MathWorks in Natick MA is hiring, and we LOVE game devs!

A place for employers, project leaders etc to post if they are looking for people to assist with an Ogre-based project. Please only post in this area if you have a _serious_ project proposition for which you already have something to show for.

MathWorks in Natick MA is hiring, and we LOVE game devs!

Hey Ogre Devs!

I'm a software developer and team lead at MathWorks (makers of MATLAB, Simulink, and Stateflow). I worked in games for about a decade on titles like Empire Earth, Empires: Dawn of the Modern World, Rise & Fall: Civilizations at War, SimCity Societies, etc. Come to find out, there are a lot of great things outside of games that need hard core C++ developers. I run a performance team and we're all ex-game developers! Game developers seem to have that drive, and skills we need.

I have a special affection for this Ogre community. I wrote my own game engine as a hobby about 4 years back, and while I've now I've built my own C++ iOS / Mac / PC engine, my first was a game engine built on top of Ogre3D. I almost submitted some patches long ago for depth sorting in 2D, scissor rects in 2D, etc... but alas, I didn't. Such things now have a solution built in!

Anyways, why am I posting?

We are looking for talented, experienced software developers to join us in building and optimizing our industry-leading suite of world changing products MATLAB, Simulink and Stateflow:

MATLAB: http://www.mathworks.com/products/matlab
Simulink: http://www.mathworks.com/products/simulink
Stateflow: http://www.mathworks.com/products/stateflow

Our team is growing rapidly we want incredible developers to grow with it. We have some remarkably smart and creative people here, which is part of what makes working here great. Seriously, MathWorks is about one of the best places you can work if you like hard problems and love C++. I daily make plenty of use of boost, STL, and other such fun C++ stuff. Probably best of all is the incredible stability, and family friendly work environment (great hours & benefits). Why else would so many ex-game developers be at MathWorks? We got tired of the long hours in the games business, but thirst for the hard problems it offered. Now we have great hours and great work!
