We are working on FBX now and Doom3 files as well as texture load folder requested by drwbns and export motions to Milkshape.

There is a company that has a lot of models for sale in fbx format, if you got it working that would be awesome. (although don't press on on my account, I can work with ogre models while prototyping )

Hi Folks

Update. Equity_XL Version V1.07.2 30-May-2014

As we have been developing Equity we used a system to export certain parts of the loaded model as a text file such as vertices in a list for example so we could plainly see what’s going on as Equity Grows ( Becomes more complex ).

We have decided to make this part of the Export options for Equity if you go to
Menu → Export ->Decompile Model to .txt Files.

The loaded model will be broken down into various text files and saved in a folder.
This may or may not be of any use to you but feel free to use the produced text files in any way you want.

Also because we are producing txt files it was not to much of leap to export to Wavefront .obj file so any model loaded now can be Exported to the Wavefront .obj file format.

One thing to remember when Exporting to .obj is that the format does not support Joints or Motions but is a good format for static models or converting animated models to a static model and can be opened in most if not all model programs.

As an Example load a Ogre mesh into Equity then Export to .obj then edit in your favourite model program Export as .obj or .3ds then load that file back into Equity then Export to Ogre.


Sorry Thyrion for not posting back the FBX import is not finished yet but is capable of loading but just at the mesh level we have been heavily involved in Weights for Milkshape Export which is mind boggling but getting there and we need to finish it as it is involved in so many formats including Ogre. But we have not forgotten FBX and will be focused on after Weights are realized.
