Converting 3ds to .mesh Blender

Hi, Im very new to Blender but I was wondering if I could use it to convert 3ds to OGRE .mesh? At the moment im just using AC3D to convert meshes but I only have the trial which lasts for 14 days.

Yes, you can. Import the 3DS file into Blender. Then install one of the Ogre exporters for Blender. Then export in Ogre format.
