Please Help ;( "fatal error C1076: compiler limit :&qu

Post by handless »

Compiling...
SampleApp.cpp
c:\stlport-4.5\stlport\stl\type_traits.h(339) : fatal error C1076: compiler limit : internal heap limit reached; use /Zm to specify a higher limit
SkyPlane.cpp
c:\stlport-4.5\stlport\stl\type_traits.h(339) : fatal error C1076: compiler limit : internal heap limit reached; use /Zm to specify a higher limit
Error executing cl.exe.

I have set up everything the tutorials have told me to setup. I'm using MS Visual C++ 6. I just now tried to implement stlport, but things arent going so well.... the newest version keeps corrupting on me when I try to download it so I tried using an older version, which works, kinda.

I placed my project in the samples folder and setup up all the dependancies needed ( I think ). It also didn't recognize the "exampleApplication.h" which I think has to do with some of my linking, but I can't figure out what exactly.. I avoided the problem by directly inserting "exampleApplication.h", "exampleFrameListener.h", and "exampleLoadingBar.h" into my project.

After that I get the above error... I have no idea what to look for, or do next from here..... Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Jesse

In your project settings, under debug (possibly release).. In the c++ tab.. Go to the bottom text area with all the compiler flags...

And enter (case sensitive)
/Zm200

If that doesn't work.. try a higer value (between 500-1000) has worked for different people.

Thanks for the fix!

But now I'm getting another really frustrating error....

Linking...
SkyPlane.obj : error LNK2005: _WinMain@16 already defined in SampleApp.obj
LINK : fatal error LNK1104: cannot open file "stlport_vc6_stldebug.lib"
Error executing link.exe.

At first it said it couldn't link to "OGREMain.LIB", I couldn't find that file either myself... Is there even supposed to be one?? All I did was delete OGREMain.LIB from linking.. Now i get that error..
Sorry, but I need help agian.. ;( Any would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Jesse

OgreMain.lib is the main Ogre library (surprisingly enough) you'll need to link to it if you want to use Ogre.

Ogre is a source distribution. You need to build it before you can use it. There are about a million pages in the readme, on these forums and in the Wiki dedicated to build instructions. I suggest you check some of them out.

Likewise, if it can't link to stlport_vc6_stldebug.lib then either you haven't built that or your library paths are set wrong.

If the compiler can't find the example...h files then that's nothing to do with your linker. That's your include path which is wrong.

No worries. The Wiki's definitely worth checking out though, if you haven't seen it already;
