Star Wars Episode 7 cast revealed

Post by Kojack »

Main cast include: John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Max von Sydow, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, and Kenny Baker.

Interesting.
Andy Serkis is in everything these days, so that's not surprising. Max von Sydow is awesome (all hail Emperor Ming!). I've never seen Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver or Oscar Isaac, so no idea on them. I only watched a few minutes of Attack The Block (John Boyega), the characters really turned me off. Not John as an actor, the actual characters didn't appeal to me. I didn't know Domhall Gleeson by name or recognise him by photo, but it turns out he was the tortured hacker with the bionic eyes in Dredd (and he was in two Harry Potter movies as a Weasley brother, but I prefer Dredd).

Kenny Baker is 80 years old and they are stuffing him into R2 again? At least they are sticking to old school style R2 rather than just a CGI version. Although maybe they are going to motion capture Kenny and use that to do a CGI R2. *Shudder* :)

I really don't know what to expect from a new Star Wars movie. I grew up on Star Wars. I saw Emperor Strikes back when I was around 6 years old (yes, I watched them out of order, I went episodes 5, 4, 6). I still have a collection of action figures, ships, etc. But episodes 1-3 really killed the franchise for me. Can J.J. bring it back? I guess he did ok at Star Trek, but I don't think he got the characters of Kirk or Spock right.

No Billy Dee Williams? :(

Great news! I'm a fun of SW. And the The Clone Wars is great animated cartoon.

I enjoyed clone wars more than Ep 1-3. It doesn't get too pretentious or overreaching for the majority. Just solid space/jedi battles and does really well at expanding upon many minor/background characters from the movies. Plus who didn't love Snips???

I haven't seen Clone Wars.

I wish the new movies focused on Kyle Katarn. He kicks ass. Or Mara Jade (Mysteries of The Sith was a cool game).
It's about time the games got a bit of recognition. Dark Forces 2 was developed and published by LucasArts and was set after Return Of The Jedi, it would be perfect for a movie!

Has there been any good scifi spoof since Space Balls? I think we are due for one.
