ogre code reputation issue

Post by Kohedlo »

Hi, guys. I have question about copyrights quality of ogre project. As i can see many men talk about nonperfect reputation of code, becaose ogre using in commercial matters. As result industry filles unity-3d and orhers, that that close his start-ups by using based ogre commercial apps symbolsics.

I know Unity 3d take and steal even not his own ideas. In his trailer of 5 version this guys show his engina as immortal scanuisg viking-god. In fightibng hi struck warior-like imperial guard with face some as mr.Stiven Stritting(founder OGRE ). In finall Unity 3 throw-down soul of strucked warrior like unusual thing.

It is need to assign guys for controlling ogre code reputation?

I about 10 years make toolsets, and last three years make Imperial Engine project as commercial c++ product, and this year rise up pollitics for preserving the sources and protect from clossing as start-ups...
I thanks for years for OGRE works, and reccomend this engine as preferred renderer in IE3.

So if I understand what you are saying... ogre has a bad code reputation because it's used commercially, and Unity stole the idea of a guy with a beard from Steve Streeting to make their Unity 5 trailer?

If so... I... hmm.

I like how all of Sketchup's different default scene characters (different one every version) are all team members. 3D engines should have that too, the developers are included as 3d models. :)
