CEGUI 0.8.5 released!

Post by Ident »

We recently released CEGUI 0.8.5! If you don't know what CEGUi is just look at this amazing list of features http://cegui.org.uk/features and the rest of our website

More info here: http://cegui.org.uk/download/cegui-085

As always I want to point you to our Ogre building guide: http://cegui.org.uk/wiki/Building_CEGUI ... reRenderer

This Release is very relevant for our Ogre users since there are a lot of fixes for Ogre in this Release. There are even greater changes in the upcoming (tba) major Releases, including a rework of our Ogre support! We are looking forward to supporting 2.0 and all other major Releases, we are very thankful for our Ogre users who help us with this and report problems.

Last but not least, feel free to stop by our CEGUI forum: http://cegui.org.uk/forum/index.php
In the future we might create a subforum on this forum as well.

Here some random excerpts of what you can do with CEGUI (screenshot by a user - skin is available, video by us):

Glossy serpent is not in our code base yet but I asked the author a while ago for permission to add it to the open source project and was granted it. I already updated the assets for 0.8.5 and have them lying around but I did not get to do the finish steps on it and thus have not commited them to the repo.
I am quite confident this will go into 0.8.6 though. So, the good news is that there will be an updated and in the future maintained version of it that will also be featured in the recently added look n' feel demo. That demo was something I created to show off most widgets of each skin on a single page, which also helped me to notice and fix some minor bugs on the way ;).
