Hi,
I want to start playing with Ogre a little bit and in order to do so I need some game resources.
Does anyone know about a good repository of free game resources?
I'm looking especially for 3d models with animations but other repositories as well.
Thanks!

I know this sites:
http://archive3d.net/
http://tf3dm.com/
http://thefree3dmodels.com/?ssid=650433551111351743257
http://www.3dm3.com/modelsbank/
http://3dmodelfree.com/
https://clara.io/library
https://3dwarehouse.sketchup.com/
http://www.blendswap.com/
http://www.turbosquid.com/search/index. ... in_price=0
http://www.creativecrash.com/downloads
but to be honest I've never downloaded anything from any of those, not sure if there's something like you need, you'll have to search =)
good luck!

Thanks for sharing!
If you have never downloaded resources from these sites, what are the alternatives?
What would you recommend for a junior game developer which wants to play around with a game/rendering engine?

Sorry, we make all our models in blender. Make sure you check all the sites I gave you, maybe you can find some cool stuff

Re: Game resources for beginners
One thing to be careful of is that a lot of sites have illegally uploaded models (ripped out of commercial games without permission). That's fine if you are just prototyping or learning (well, it's still illegal, but nobody is going to know), but will get you in trouble if you release a game for sale using them.
Blend swap does a pretty good job of filtering out those, plus marks models as fan art if they are based on an existing IP.

I'm just prototyping without any thoughts about releasing something
I'll try to search some nice animated characters, thanks!
