OGRE ANIMATION - I WANT THE MODEL TO STAY AT THE SAME PLACE

Post by nomisqc »

Hi ! I've got this little problem I would like to solve.

I made animations using biped system in 3DS max 7.
The problem is that I open an existing .bip file to get a walking animation.
However, this animation moves the model forward in addition to animate it.

Is there a simple solution to constraint the model to its current position ?

It would kinda walk like on a treadmill, if you see what I mean...
I would then make it move in the environment via its position in the program and not depending on the animation...

Thanks !

I'm not sure it's possible to do that, but just a shot in the dark idea ...

Open up the "dopesheet" track editor thing that allows you to specify the changing properties of an object across keyframes (like rotation, position, etc ). Try changing the foward motion of the biped to stay in place. I have no idea if the footsteps will override this or not but it's worth a shot.

edit:
If I understand your question correctly this is more appropriate in the Art forum.

There's an option in max to prevent that. I remember that it is in the tut docs somewhere ...
