In the working directory, normally the same directory as your .exe.

Hello,

I have two problems :

-First, I don't understand the difference between BSP and terrain in ogre
-I don't have idea of as I do to create a map in bsp or better way and to rotate in the ogre.
I found a plugin for the 3dsmax that it exports maps as. map
Would I like to use the 3dsmax to create maps, is it possible?

Somebody help me?

Had I known you made a double post, I wouldn't have bothered to answer you in your other thread, Selles.

How does your question relate with this thread's topic anyway?

Well, .pk3 is simply another name for .zip - so the .bsp will be inside that .pk3 file which you will provide the path for in quake3settings.cfg.

If you don't know the difference between terrain and bsp, and .pk3 and .bsp - this might be a very wrong place to be -> we are programmers here. Ogre is not a point-and-click game creation tool.

selles, will you please stop to ask the same questions in different places. You got your own thread. Use this instead of hijacking others.

Learning English will probably also help.

Oh, come on! Not only does the guy behave inappropriately in a public forum, he also uses a language that could have been a Babelfish-translation of Japanese.

My comment should not be interpreted as derogatory. But I did not suspect that a smaller, but perhaps more polite, essay on the virtues of expressing oneself clearly would be quite understood and reflected upon. I do not question the poor guy's intelligence, as much as his lingual abilities.

My own English isn't perfect - that shouldn't withhold me from encouraging improvement in others'.

I apologise if anybody was hurt in the process.

Clearly he's not from an english-speaking country, so give him a little lee-way here. English is one of the more complicated languages out there, not the easiest to pick up.

That is no excuse for not adhering to basic nettiquette.

Yer, I'm not saying I agree or like his hijacking of this thread, but I dont think we should be too quick to have a go at him for his lack of english skills.

You mean this kind of hijacking you two (and now I too) do? ;)
Of course there is no reason to chide one for lacking english skills.

What languages are easier than English?
I speak (ahem) some languages and compared to German, French and Russian the English language is by far the easiest to learn.

As I understand it there are a lot more nuances to English than to many other languages. So many different tenses and stuff.
I think Spanish is meant to be the easiest to learn.
Man, if we keep this up we should really start a new thread for this or something. Getting way off topic.

We should, really.

English is a very simple language. Spanish is only simple because it is so predictable and "regular", but it has about 3 times as many tenses as English. You can speak of complexity in languages like Finnish or certain dialects of Chinese (and many Scandinavian languages, but that's mostly because our pronounciation is so utterly fucked).

I did not suggest that someone should be ignored or looked down upon because of lacking English skills (I'm not a native speaker myself), I was merely mentioning that a refined knowledge of the language in question does improve the chances of being heard and understood.

I suppose if you had spoken Spanish or even Portuguese most people would be as lost (supongo que si hubieras hablado español o portugues la mayoría de la gente no habría entendido nada ;) yo, p.ej., sólo hablo español).

And I agree, it is very irrational to stigmatise someone because of lacking lingual skills - the same is not true, however, for lacking social skills and courtesy. Your post was not particularly grave, that's not the point.

Whatever, let's all be friends. :)
