HYPERASTRO

Post by meltigator »

Hi everyone !

I created a small prototype of an old project, it's called HYPERASTRO, it's a game inspired by arcade coin ups..

It doesn't focus so much on technique as on playability, even if it's early at the moment..

It's here:

https://meltigator.itch.io/hyperastro

Here is a short video:

Let's see what comes out, if you like let me know what you think!

Stay connected!

The game looks good, but I have some criticism of the video:
For starters the video takes some seconds to start with a black screen. Nowadays you loose half your audience with that. Start right away.
Another thing is that the gameplay is extremely confusing. Whoever is playing is losing right away and you can't tell what is happening. Also, the "insert coin" becomes very annoying.

Thanks for your feedback. I'll try to answer:

The video has some problems, it's true, I'll make another one.

The phrase "Insert Coin(s)" appears because the game is inspired by ARCADE GAME, such as those found in Japan, I will consider eliminating it.

Consider that, unlike other similar games, which are perhaps one-way, this one is 360 degrees, which means that it is not just the Player
it goes everywhere, but they are also enemies who can do whatever they want..

The game is frenetic, it's true, it's a prototype, a Test, if I continue development it will be very different.

The basic idea was to have enemies with always different behavior, the more you play the more they learn your way of playing, so it shouldn't
being boring, perhaps difficult, is a challenge.

But it won't just be shooting, there will also be missions to complete.

Now I would like to understand what the players think, to evaluate future developments.

The current game mode is: destroy all Aliens, there are 4 levels, when you complete the level "Congratulations" appears, each level
double the number of enemies.

Hi everyone,

New little update, this time I went crazy and ran HYPERASTRO on the Steam Deck, the portable console.

This is a version that runs on Microsoft Windows, but I have to say that it runs pretty well, albeit with some limitations.

To try !

Thanks for your feedback. It is currently evolving, the initial idea changes, the project follows.. If I can say: I try to extract the giant from the sand..
