Pet pics!

Post by CaseyB »

Ok, to lighten the mood I thought it might be fun to post pictures of our pets!

This is Gabriel, he is a Holland Lop and he will be three on May 5, 2008.

We took this picture after we kept him up all night for New Years Eve! He was SO sleepy!

We have a rabbit named "Jack" who is almost exactly like Gabriel, in fact I thought it was Jack when I saw the golden coloured fluffy fur.

Here is some pictures of our two Siamese cats; Ping and Coco - Ping is in the first photograph and Coco and Ping in the second. Ping is the eldest and Coco is 4-5 years old. Ping is rather shy and reserved. Coco is the exact opposite, and has this in your face attitude - She is almost like a toddler that can jump 4 feet in the air, and always questions your authority. She'll also follow you to the end of the Earth if you steal one of her many "toy mice".

I'll see if I can get a picture of Jack, so we can compare him to Gabriel.

Aww. Is he allowed loose around your house, or does he in a special squirrel sized cage?

Cute :) My last two bunnies died a few months ago, unfortunatly. We had a sort of "tribe" living in the garden of my parents for about 12 years. Except for the night (they were put into a shed for their protection) they could hop around freely. Very funny to watch. But well, that is finally over now. Gonna see if I can find some pictures.

Am I the only one that noticed there's a box labeled "ASSMAN by night" in the photo?

Cool squirrel though.

lol

I had a ferret but I'm not a good owner for ferrets, so she is being taken care of by relatives. The squirrel looks really cute, does he run around all the time, or does he ever sit still and sit near you?

I want a ferret, but they are illegal here in queensland. Ferrets are fine in all parts of australia except for 2 states, the Northern Territory and Queensland. The state governments claim ferrets could escape and slaughter the native wildlife, even though other states think they are ok and haven't had any ferret based ecological disasters.

CaseyB: Very cute bunnies :)

I think Ferrets are some of the cutest pets around. They're so uniquely curious, adventurous, and amazingly flexible (almost feel like a fuzzy rubber snake - seriously :) ). Tons of fun.

Unfortunately they're illegal here in California because they would "thin out the rodent population". What's wrong with that (they gonna ban cats next?)

Fortunately, I've had the opportunity to "have" one for a day (we found it - in our back yard!), until returning it to it's owner (apparently there are about 500,000 ferrets in California despite them being technically "illegal"). The sad thing is if your ferret is "found", it will be taken away and killed.

The Queensland Ferret Welfare Society has a rescue service which smuggles ferrets over the border to other states, because ferrets are killed here too if they are found (plus a $60000 fine).
