C# on Linux? C# only exists under Windows.

This really sounds like an "I'm frustrated with A, B, C & D and want to vent it" thread. What are your objective issues against C#, Linux and Qt? As you state those are the worst in their category, I assume you can justify why they are.

Yes. But I made it clear that all replies to be specific to questions. One word for each question. This thread was meant to be a statistical questionnaire not to comment and discuss things.

But let me comment on your answers...

C# as a language, and you mixed it with the platform. I mean the design and semantics, not the .NET or Mono implementations. Only the LANGUAGE

MFC is not an API. Qt sucks, in my opinion, because it uses non-standard pre-processor directives.

Linux API, sucks!!! yes because it's microscopic compared to Windows.

Linux is dis-functional yes!!! It has not even binary compatible within the same distro...

In the end this is my opinion. and you could answer:

COBOL

Ageia SDK API

CEGUI

Mac OS X

And it's your opinion, we just wanted to find the loser among those categories.

Physx isn't Aegia anymore, it's NVidia, and I can't imagine why you think the API sucks. I found it easy to use and understand.

Hey, before this topic is closed. Let's turn it around, and actually explain the reasons for our answers.

I'll start:

Java: No constructors or multiple inheritance for objects. The huge library of code which I feel is a hindrance than an advantage and my first real taste of OO programming was using Java; I had a bad teacher who did not explain it very well. Which has always made me think less of Java.

MFC: I actually don't know MFC that well, but from what I've seen from it. It's very patchy and not well put together. It seems like it's been built on top of other code and which has been put on top of others. I avoid it as much as possible and use alternatives.

Linux: Linux is a mixed bag with me. There are some bits I like; I love the console and scripting stuff. Some of the hardcore console programs are brilliantly robust. But I don't like how the filesystem is arranged. I don't like how there is at least two types of window systems, and I certainly don't like that every Linux developer insists in their own standards. I started using it in 1998 and it has changed quite a lot over the years, mostly for the good but it could be a lot better.

Windows: Some very obvious reasons which I won't go into. I also come from an Amiga background which I'm brainwashed to think anything from Microsoft should be touched by a 10-foot barge poll.

This topic is retarded. Well, maybe not the topic itself, but your attempts to moderate this thread are.

I only posted to defend PhysX in case someone might read what you posted and think you have a clue what you're talking about. But at least you've saved me the trouble of reading any of your ridiculous posts in the future as now I will certainly recognize your name.

Hell, you're probably radioman or one of the other jackasses we've already seen booted from the forum.

Also, the phrases "be open minded" and "express yourself" sound like typical marketing buzz-words we all hate, but for people that could never run a business.
