IGF 2009 - Submissions Opened! - Ends November 2008!

Post by Klaim »

Take a look!

http://www.igf.com/

I think i'll not be able to submit my own game in the end because it will certainly not be ready on the graphic and audio plans (though the game should work well at this time). :/
But as i see submission deadline is later than last year's, i'll keep working hard to have something maybe enough to submit.

I remember that someone here other than me wanted to submit a game too (with spaceships)...who was it again?...*searching*

Our project, M.A.D. , is on track for submission to the IGF contest.

We've made good progress since the action video on our site. Adding CABAListic's editable terrain system and JohnJ's paged geometry has given it a great boost. I'll owe them (along with Steve and the Ogre crew) a debt of gratitude and maybe more if we get to the finalists and beyond!

Glad you like it :D

I've redone all the models from scratch since that screenshot was taken, I really need to finalise some of the skins so that we can add some new screens to our gallery .

Yep, I'm still planning on entering. At the very least, I should have a solid playable experience by November 1st, the submission deadline.

Over the last couple years, quirky offbeat games seem to be doing well at IGF. And the Salvation Prophecy isn't really in that category, so it's tough to tell how favorably it will be judged. Still, even making it to the finalist stage gets you a free ticket into GDC, and a booth to show off your game, which is a pretty great networking opportunity.

Good luck, M.A.D. guys. Maybe I'll see you in San Fran in Mar '09.

here's a shot of some of the new models I've been working on for M.A.D.

however I'm starting to become quite concerned that we won't have enough assets ready in time for this years IGF, I'm really struggling to get the models ready in time .

Wow really nice designs :D

I understand you about the assets, i will not have graphical assets at all in mine at the end of the submission, only procedurally generated models (that are like 50% of the planned game). I guess it will not be a good idea to submit, maybe next year for me, with a polished game.
