A place called Ogre!

Post by PolyVox »

While browsing the forums today I noticed one of the Google adverts was offering me 'Hotels in Ogre'. There is actually a place called Ogre!

http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&g ... iwloc=addr

How cool is that?! Anyone for a Pilgrimage? :P

I'm sure it's great, you can read all about it on their official homepage! In Latvian of course :D

Wow, it's even (partially) mapped in OpenStreetMap too. In fact according to OSM there's a River Ogre (running through Ogre town) and even an Ogre Drive (in the US).

Interesting, even the mighty Google maps missed them!

We should have an official Ogre meet there. Go to an Ogre party at one of the pubs in Ogre, drink some locally brewed Ogre beer and eat the local Ogre food.

Also one of us could make a fiberglass version of our famous "ogre.mesh" and put it in the middle of town as a statue. :D

And a washed-out dream
They follow the pattern of the wind, ya' see
Cause they got no place to be
That's why I'm starting with me
