This is not a problem related to Ogre itself but I didn't know where to post it. The forum system is a little bit broken when it comes to login. I have to login every time I click on a 'to see this post' link in my email. The forum doesn't remember my credentials either (yes I have cookies enabled) and if I run across a post on the same day I logged in (with the remember me checkbox enabled), there is a good chance it will ask for me to login again. Then if I do login it will take me back to the index!? I have to search for the post again now. If I go back in history (after logging in) to the post, I am logged back out (this is the only forum I have seen that this happens on, in every other forum if I go back to a post after logging in, it now shows me as logged in). The Ogre Addon forums has the same problem. Browse to a post, hit reply, login, it will take you back to index. This is especially problematic when links are emailed to me to notify me about a new reply.
If there is a setting in profile that I need to change, please let me know. If not, any chance this can be fixed?

Re: Forum Login system
It could be your session cookies, try deleting ALL of the cookies for ogre3d.org and login again. Then see what happens.

Re: Forum Login system
I remember once having had a similar problem when I used to surf in the forums with ogre3d.org, but the mails direct to www.ogre3d.org. So I presumably had a cookie for the first URL, but not for the second (although I thought that they should be the same).
This however occured with the old forum software. No clue whether it still exists and I might also have been due to some other reasons...

Re: Forum Login system
Thanks for the replies guys, unfortunately deleting cookies did not fix the problem. I have tried this on several browsers as well as different devices (ipad, laptop) and the same problem exists. This is how I reproduce it on my devices including PCs:
- Make sure you are logged out of the forum system.
- Close all windows in the browser related to Ogre forums. These two steps will replicate opening a browser for the first time after a restart.
- Browse to a topic, then reply to it.
- Login with your credentials, check 'remember me', click login
- The only option displayed now will be to return to the index page

Just to mention I have exactly the same problem (for 1 or 2 years).

This is most probably a bug in the forum software.samaursa wrote:Browse to a post, hit reply, login, it will take you back to index. This is especially problematic when links are emailed to me to notify me about a new reply.
Happens other places as well.
The redirect was broken due to the latest upgrade.
Very annoying..
Has nothing to do with your setup.

Re: Forum Login system
Should be related to one's account state? I had this problem for maybe a month last year if I remember well (I think we already have a thread about it).
