Thief 2 or Painkiller.
Painkiller is one of the few games I've replayed many times all the way through, in order to unlock all the cards and bonus levels.

Thief 2 is just awesome.

I agree with Thief 2 (even if I can't precisely choose a favorite game).

I'm worried a bit about Thi4f... they managed to make a good Deus Ex but Thief is clearly more hardcore. It makes me laugh when other games talk about "infiltration". Haha. They don't know anything.

Doom2, Quake3, Doom3, Quake4, Prey. Played those a lot.

More recently: Left 4 Dead, Left 4 Dead 2, Dead Space, Dead Space 2.

Most Hated Game: Team Fortress 2. Frustrating, pointless, total lack of any feeling of progress. Run to front, die, wait, respawn, run to front, die, wait, respawn... Play every day, have 1271 hours of total play time.

In categories:
Joystick based combat: Freespace 2
FPS: Painkiller
Stealth: Whole Thief series, mainly Thief 2. Hitman series a close second.
Lan party: Operation Flashpoint and Swat 4 (nothing can beat those games for 4 person co-op).
RPG: Hmm, tricky. Probably Arx Fatalis.
MMO: Asheron's Call.
Humour: Giants (cutscenes), or Psychonauts (everything).
Horror: Amnesia

I like Arma 2 better than Flashpoint, but the lan parties I went to stopped before Arma 2 came out and I don't like online co-op games with people I don't know. So Flashpoint remains my favourite lan party game but not my favourite BIS game.

FIFA , any version of FIFA... and then PSE

I love fifa 2012... This may because I'm crazy for futbol/football/soccer

Other games, I love New Rally X, Ring King, Elevator and HALO !

I hate FIFA 2012. They made defending way too hard - and at the same time your opponent can defend against you with almost 100 % success. It's really silly.

They do change things from time to time. Some people like the changes others don't. However, people still play it and love it. Just like there are people that love Pro Soccer Revolution.

In particular, about Fifa 2012, most of the games I play is against other people. Either in my house or via the xbox live. So we are all playing by the same rules.

I do like the fact that we have an extra resource for defending (or at least new to me) which is the B. The 2 player defense how is in the RB. I would love to have the new feature in the RB and the B with the 2 player defense.

It is harder to defend, but in real life, is not easy to defend either. However, I hear you!

The starter was a spammer, he did a game list thing then edited in spam links at the bottom (if the links were already there, you wouldn't have seen the post). He got deleted, leaving you as the new creator. :)
It is a bit confusing since nothing is left behind saying another person was there.

Been a long time since I've played Last Ninja 2. It was on my friend's C64, which would have been 24 or so years ago.

Yep, sounds about right. That was about the last time I played it, too.

Still remember all of the music on it to this day.

Original Everquest up to Luclin expansion. That one set the margins very high and left a huge gap.
Vanguard was amazing but sony can't run it.
Rift was really bigtime fun good until they dumbed it down 6 months into release...
Bard's Tale (Amiga)
Kaiser still playing that, awesome freeware fun: http://yadam.de/KAISER/kaiser.htm - sadly only german
Wing Commander IV
Thief 1&2
Original Defender of the Crown (Amiga)

Based on amount of time played, and the fact I was part of the reverse engineering and third party addon community, I guess Asheron's Call would have to be my favourite game of all time. I played it fairly heavily for 5 years.

X-Com (aka UFO - Enemy Unknown)
Master Of Orion
Star Control 2
Warcraft 3

All oldies but goodies. The game I'm working on is a clone of a WC3 map (Burbenog for those who're also into TDs)
