Thanks!

I'd like to salute all the guys and gals here at Ogre forums. Having posted 100 times here I feel I have to introduce myself a bit. :)

I've came here because I've managed to land a relatively small project of a homegrown flight simulation system about two months ago. I had to find a suitable engine for visualization and after looking at many alternatives I literally bet a mini-farm (plus my reputation) on Ogre :D

The project itself wasn't anything special except maybe controlling the pilot's seat via servo-motors to relay the plane orientation. But it was quite a success and I want to say thanks to all the people behind the Ogre 3D's engine! I absolutely loved the code base the first time I looked into it. Certainly the closest to my coding mindset among all alternatives. Albeit not all design decisions stick with me but then again, I never developed a 3D engine (except those software rasterizers running on EGA back in 90-s) so I humbly accepted them.

Special thanks go to the developers of OgreMeshy and Blender 2.6 Export script. These tools were real life savers for me! CEGui deserves a credit too for being easy to integrate and work with.

Many thanks to the users who contributed to Wiki and these forums. I believe I found many useful tricks and hints here and there. Can't remember exactly so my apologies for not being able to credit the authors directly.

I quickly grew attached to the code base and this community. In fact I can't remember any other forum where I posted over 100 times (except the old indie gamer forums but I lost my account after they moved from Dexterity so that doesn't count now ). I even tried to help some newcomers here like myself with those little bits I've learned so far. Hopefully I will have more time to contribute even more to this outstanding project once I render my "boring projects" queue into my bank account

Thanks again!

Ogre indeed has a very nice community.

I am interested in the project. Is it showcased anywhere? I can't find it in the list of posts you've posted (although I admit I just skimmed the list, might have missed it).

Well, I decided it's not worth a post in the showcase forum. If the showcase forum were empty I'd have posted a few screenshots. But there's so many awesome projects there already.

You obviously know your stuff, and you were very helpful to me in getting debugging set up, so thanks for joining.
