Thank you for the kind words.xrgo wrote:you got some sick graphics yo'
really amazing, great job! one of the best screenshots I've seen made with ogre, should be in the mainpage, congrats to the artists =D!
Hey frostbyte!frostbyte wrote:yeah, looks very very good...the town is ready...needs people....needs a sheriff...some 3d clouds (-:
i love westrens, i remember i enjoyed playing this one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IrMk9RyCWKI (-:
which brings me to the really interesting question...what type of game is it?
is it a quest/puzzle or do i need to order an occulus device and start practicing my draw'in skills?
I have a blast reading the commentsfrostbyte wrote: i love westrens, i remember i enjoyed playing this one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IrMk9RyCWKI (-:
Haaa! I know right? I remember talking with a friend in here about how much you hate us...dark_sylinc wrote:
You guys were a pain in the butt because of highlighting issues with the engine and I'm really glad you pointed them out. It's working out
frostbyte wrote:great, now i like it even better (-:
game idea sounds like a sure steam's early-access top 10...
tough looking dude...shadows look very good...
its interesting that in such an illuminated enviroment( desert ) shadows look very dramatic and have a strong impact on the games atmosphere
i can imagine beautiful desert sunset/sunrise empowering your game which brings us to the painful topic of CLOUDS...
apparently CLOUDS are a topic of their own, thousands of man-years invested in research and still...but hardware is almost there...
best looking open-source clouds i found is here...https://www.panda3d.org/forums/viewtopi ... 40#p106215
think its voxel based clouds but i don't think they come cheap either...
as i understand you don't really need inside/above clouds rendering, right?
if so, i guess searching for only a "below clouds" solution can make it somehow easier on you...
interesting article... http://advances.realtimerendering.com/s ... 20ARTR.pdf
anyway , next time, be nice to see some moving/dancing/singing stuff... old west style (-:
have fun...
We modified some things, like rendering sorting, PBS shader, skeleton system, animation system, post processing...Thyrion wrote:wow. awesome!
Is this all made without modifying ogre 2.1?
Ohhh we do have one! And some guns too!Thyrion wrote: And where is the saloon??
No zombies!!! I promise!!NotCamelCase wrote:It looks superb! Kudos. I like your setting on a survival game, interesting take.
And please tell me there won't be zombies!Or just a few.. I'd prefer none.
Zombies in a current game title translate to me as "We have neither creativity nor imagination so we just filled the void with zombies."frostbyte wrote:hilarious, i had the same passing thought..."hope they won't derail to zombies..."
glad to hear there won't be any...zombies are boring (-:
Hey thanks alot!dark_sylinc wrote:Whoa!!! That looks amazing!!! Great work!!
(there is of course details like a missing effect when digging with the shovel or some decal on the tree after it gets cut, but still it is amazing!)
You mean the dust from the worm ? Its just unlit particles, very, very simple. We use the old particle system.frostbyte wrote:nice trailer....how did you do the dust in the last scene? any code contibution to ogre is welcomed... (-:
