Great! Congratulations on the new release.

Is there (or will there be) a draft / plan / todo list or time line for Ogre-Next 4.0, i.e. what will be developed there, any new features coming, at which pace?

Oh I just read "Multithreaded Shader Compilation and PSO generation: This greatly speeds up shader compilation, app loading and greatly reduces stutter. Available for Vulkan and Metal.", so this is not for GLv3 RS, won't be faster right?

There is not. But I was thinking I delayed 3.0 too long. 4.0 could be released today.

I shouldn't delay 4.0 too long because the Multithreading changes would give enough porting headaches to our users. So I am considering releasing 4.0 in 6 months.

If it starts accumulating more changes, it's gonna be harder for users to update.

D3D11 could theoretically be benefitted as well, it's just there's no interest yet to do it.
But OpenGL will never work. It's a fundamental issue with the API plus the combination of some poor driver implementations. Workarounds could be used but we risk introducing stability issues.
