In one word: Hammer (the source-engine one)

Is the best Editor ever seen. I try to make Maps with 3DSMAX but it's totally diferents, brushes is a way to make maps that can be surpassed.
Works:
MapToMesh | Bengine B9 @ www.sourceforge.net/projects/maptoogremesh/
3DWorldStudio exporter@ www.blastern.info

I'm not sure if everyone else wants what I want, but maybe something along the lines of a Buzzmachines/Reaktor shader and procedural texture developer (i.e., a flowchart that you can link basic objects to create complex shaders maybe including some plugin architecture so people can make their own building blocks).
That, coupled on top of some solid scene/model editing, like what has been suggested, would be excellent.

Precisely, which is why I'm looking at DeleD. It has the potential to be Hammer or better (the devs are still working hard on it), it just needs an entity parser. Everything else I've looked at is crap, and 3dsmax/Blender is way too hard to create levels.

Thats a matter of opinion, and what type of "level" you are making.

BSP, and"brush" type "levels" are limited in many ways.
