does anyone know about silo 3d?
is it an unpopular modelling software?

yeah, silo 3d is an amazing modeling program. the current version is strictly an "object modeller" (one object at a time, very limited material tools), but what it does it does beautifully (especially for the price). the upcoming version 2.0 looks like it will add some really powerful new tools (including UV unwrapping tools). I'm planning on buying 2.0 as soon as I have 100 bucks to spare :D (if you buy 1.4 right now, you'll get 2.0 for no extra charge)
