Adding a cylinder to spaceship

Post by walkingbeard »

Hi

I've made this spaceship. My second! Woo!

I want to add cylindrical engines on where those wispy bits are at the end of the wings. Can anybody recommend the best way to do this in GMax? Should I just make some cylinders as separate models and kind of weld them on, or do reckon that using extrudes and things would be better. I just want them to actually look round.

How would I do the welding?

Not knowing the limitations of gmax as compared to 3DSMax, I would say just create the engines as seperate entities, then attach them to the wings (using the Attach modifier in mesh tools).

I thought gmax didn't support exporters? Are you able to get your models into Ogre from gmax?

You can save in different formats. I guess I'll have to get Blender and do it through that. I made a couple of models for Planeshift with Gmax. I've never really done anything else.

Cheers for the tip though!
