I'm looking for an experienced OGRE coder to develop a game engine for me.
The game will be a story based adventure game in realtime 3d. This will be an episodic game, released a chapter at a time. My hopes are to have the first chapter of the game complete in about 6 months.
Game Engine Requirements:
-third person camera that can alternate between a chase camera and a Resident Evil 1-3 fixed background view.
-import a complete scene from a scripted file
-sound and audio capability using OGG Vorbis file format, and a low cost, commercially licensed sound library such as OpenAL
-preferably cross platform (mac + linux, with long term potential to port to console)
-must have some sort of collision detection, not necessarily a physics engine, just enough to know that the player character has entered a spot to trigger a scene transition, or come near enough an NPC to interact with the NPC.
-there will be no combat in the first chapter of the game, so no need to worry about complex fighting/physics
-the game should be playable on older machines. Ideally, the game could use the latest graphics capabilities, but also limit the processing to be runnable on older machines.
Payment:
I have a couple options to pay the developer:
-a fixed price, broken up between several milestones (as agreed upon by the two of us)
-commission based - the developer gets a set portion of the profit from the finished game.
Ideal Candidates will be able to provide proof of the following:
-experience on a completed gaming project using OGRE, having a large role in the game's development
-solid resume in software development
I would also like the developer to provide the following:
-how long it would take to finish the project
-desired payment method and rate
-plan of attack for collision detection (only to be able to direct 3d modelers to create any extra meshes/models, etc)
Please contact me at R67en [at] aol.com
Thanks!
