Arsenal of Democracy 2: Established Dev Team seeks new membe

A place for employers, project leaders etc to post if they are looking for people to assist with an Ogre-based project. Please only post in this area if you have a _serious_ project proposition for which you already have something to show for.

Arsenal of Democracy 2: Established Dev Team seeks new membe

Post by Lennartos »

Hi,
my name is Lennart Berg and I am the lead developer of Arsenal Of Democracy(Link),
which is going to be released in Q1 of 2010.(Edit: 23. Feb just been announced)

I am currently doing some research for a new engine and framework which to mount the game on for a possible expansion. I talked with my other dev team members and we came to the conclusion that we need to expand our current squad for a sequel.

As we plan to switch from 2D to 3D with Ogre/Axiom, someone with active skills in this engine, as well as some shader knowledge would fit perfectly into our current group.

You need to have some degree of passion for global strategic games like Hearts of Iron, as this is the base we develop from. We do develop primary for fun and because we love the game, it’s all on a voluntary basis.

We have currently assembled an international team of 6 for AoD2, ranging from regular programmers, to OOB scripter’s and researchers up to 2D Artists. We have beside the core team a huge supporting circle in the community ranging from folks who do foreign translations into e.g. Russian and ones who dig after the correct facts to make it a good and worthwhile WW2 game.

You can make yourself a better picture of our current work when you take a look into our (Forums).
or into our (Picture Dump). If you like what you see, we would be honoured to welcome you as our newest team member  !

In case of interest in joining our team in the matter of 3D Engine programming, or if you just want to give out a helping hand, please contact me at LB@BL-Logic.dk

i gotta *bump* this one here.

as im also a member of the aod1 dev team, i can say it is relaxed work and its fun work too. we love what we do and we are happy to see the game grow and develop every day in almost any area. as the game is extremly complex and multidimensional (besides warfare in all thinkable categories there are politics, diplomacy, production, economy, tech, intel...) work runs never out.

as we completly worked in the 2d realm with aod1 we now wanted to shift to a 3dimensional engine.
we are very picky at letting new members in to the core of our team and at all its not easy to get in- but most of the the time its enough when you are a decent guy with some skills and dedication! when you think you might fit and you know you "burn" in the depths of your heart for realtime grand strategy, let us know either by mail or in this thread.

greetings

My heart does not "burn" for global strategic games. I just wanted to point out that you present what seems to be a serious project. I wish you to find someone who fits your need.

I think i need to bump this.

We got programmers, artists and musicians - but still no one with OGRE / Shader knowledge.
The map is slowly taking form, but we need someone to help optimize the engine for low end computers, and make some optmimiziations using shaders to put the stress off the cpu.

Some screenshots of the current map

If you feel you have enough eye candy for the ShowCase forum, open a topic there.
The best way to generate interest for your project is to regularly pimp it. :)
And by that, I mean: regularly.
