Didn't realised these are set for release soon. Anyone going for it? Read this article on geek.com and they are looking to be priced very nice compared to intels current offerings.

Re: Bulldozer
Damn that'd crash my Q8400 to bits, and I bought it for about the same price a year and a half ago
And, as I have a LGA775 I can't use it even if I bought it, so I'd really have to wait for a few years until I buy a new computer, by then, this will be history, but no doubt people that have AM3+ motherboards will get it the minute it gets out, even people that don't, they're sure to upgrade. I mean, this thing rivals $1000+ Intel CPU, why wouldn't you buy it, or even throw in 100$ more for a motherboard upgrade, it still'd be about half the price of an Intel i7 with core speed near Bulldozer.

Re: Bulldozer
yeah the price is really low. I bet intel will release somthing faster so they can keep the $1000 price tag

Re: Bulldozer
I like the look of the Bulldozer Interlagos Opteron, it's 16 core. Stick two of them in an ASUS KGPE-D16 (dual socket opteron board) and that's 32 core.
The downside to the Bulldozer design is that the cores aren't entirely separate as such. A bulldozer with 8 cores does have 8 integer units, but only 4 fpus and fetch/decode stages.
Still sounds cool.

Re: Bulldozer
yeah it's going to be interesting to see benchmarks for an equivelent intel chip against it, as intel do insist hyper threading is better.
