Flipcode was my favorite game development site when it closed doors 7 years ago - but now it's back!

It's already had a good number of interesting links in the short time it's back.
My other primary source of graphics/game stuff is tuan kuranes' twitter. I've spent many a train ride to work reading some paper or website he's posted a link to.
(Thanks tuan!)

Thanks for reminding me of Tuan's tweets - very inspirational!
((However, they also remind of how little time I've got..))

So little time, so many libraries to integrate and papers to implement.
(Having a heap of good games just come out or about to come out isn't helping either)

The scary thing is there are adults today who weren't even born when the first season of The Simpsons aired.
Now that really makes me feel old.

This thread is really doing the off-topic forum justice

I remember Flipcode! Well, what I mean is I remember posting a terrain engine with source code for the "pic of the day" or whatever it was. A week later a screenshot appeared with the same engine but the textures changed slightly.
C'est la vie!
Glad to see it back though.

No need to wait. There's a neat article about a path tracer. Already dumped an hour thinking through it

Is it just me or did flipcode just go down (again)?

Yes it is just you
Seems okay from here..
A willow deeply scarred, somebody's broken heart
And a washed-out dream
They follow the pattern of the wind, ya' see
Cause they got no place to be
That's why I'm starting with me

I too can access it now
At first I thought the company network had banned the site. I just verified that it works from my company network. So I guess it did go down at the time I had posted about flipcode being down.

And it died.

I hope that we don't need to wait another 5 years ..

It's been dead (the front page) for over a month now (maybe two).
